What is our production time?

It's fair to think that we're a stock holding toy shop waiting for orders that we can ship out immediately. Unfortunately this is not the case and there is a very good reason. Our catalogue is comprised of several hundred toys and our colour library holds anywhere between 60 and 90 different colours at any one time. For us to print a batch of each toy, in each of the colours, would be a manufacturing nightmare not to mention it would not feasible for us to hold so much stock.

So, converted our operations to on-demand which means that when we receive an order our ops automation process kicks off, our production team is notified, and the production process takes place on any one of our 100 3D printers. Some really small toys can be printed in as little as 2 hours but hardly anyone orders a single little toy. Most orders are for a collection of items which means a single order could conceivably occupy several printers over several hours and possibly even days. Some larger toys can print for over 24 hours.

In many cases we will be done with your order within a day, but we offer a lead time of between 3 and 7 days because it provides us with a buffer should anything go wrong or in the case that you order a large amount of toys.

We're sharing this information in the interest of transparency. We might be a fairly large print farm (one of the biggest in the country) but that doesn't mean we get to act all big and strong, we want our customers to be happy with our quality and with the purchasing experience and transparency plays a part in that. We hope this gives you a better understanding of how the Toyko team operate.
